NSW: Relaying rail track won't set back line opening: Watkins

SYDNEY, Feb 27 AAP - The relaying of up to seven kilometres of a new Sydney railway
line is the result of "a small error", NSW Transport Minister John Watkins says.
More than half of the state government's 14km Epping-to-Chatswood rail line is to be
relaid after it was discovered rubber mats fixed between the rail and concrete footings
needed to be reglued.
Mr Watkins today downplayed the setback, saying the problem will not cost taxpayer
funds and will not delay the opening of the line next year.
