(Daily Trojan) (UWIRE) LOS ANGELES -- The Trojans are still just out of reach of being distinguished as one of the nation's elite teams.
The No. 8 USC men's volleyball team hung tough with recently unstoppable No. 3 Cal State Northridge last Friday night at Northridge, but after four games it was all said and done, as the Matadors handled the Trojans 28-30, 30-22, 30-22, 30-22.
The Trojans (9-11, 6-8 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation) showed why they are just on the cusp of reaching that elite level. They came out strong in the opening game, on the mark in almost every aspect of their attack.
