Airlines CMO Committee on House Transportation and Infrastructure April
03, 2008 A Continental Airlines, Inc. (CALA) contract mechanic was killed
during ground operations of a Continental Airlines B737 on January 16,
2006 at El Paso, Texas. This was a fatal aircraft accident and the flight
crew's actions were accepted into the FAA's ASAP program during the week
following the accident. As the FAA's B-737 Aircrew Program Manager (APM)
in the Continental Airlines Certificate Management Office (COA CMO) I sent
a February 14, 2006 e-mail of my professional disagreement with the ASAP's
