FED: Metal objects were found in sausages: police

BRISBANE, April 7 AAP - Consumers are reminded to be alert for metal objects in prepackaged
meat, particularly sausages, after a contamination scare revealed on the weekend.

Pieces of metal up to six centimetres long have been found in uncooked prepackaged
meat in four supermarkets this year, in Queensland, NSW and Western Australia.

In each case, the objects were discovered before anyone attempted to eat the meat,
purchased at Coles, Woolworths and Bi-Lo stores.

Queensland Police are leading the investigation, and believe the incidents are linked.
