Xinjiang Proved 18.98bn Tons of Coal Reserve in 07

URUMQI, May 09, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Xinjiang Autonomous Region has proved 18.98 billion tons of coal reserve in several coalmines in Zhundong Coalfield in 2007, disclosed the Department of Land and Resources of Xinjiang.

Xinjiang had invested CNY 16.6 million in conducting 30 projects of prospective study on mineral resources in this region by the end of 2007, and it finished a geological survey covering 199,000 square kilometers, accounting for 12% of the territory area of Xinjiang Province, within which there are 53 mid sized and 11 large sized potential mineral properties.
