Yamada Denki Said to Foray into China before 2010

SHANGHAI, May 14, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Yamada Denki Co., Ltd., Japan's largest home appliance retail chain operator, is reportedly planning to open its first store in Mainland China before 2010.

The store is said to locate in Shanghai, covering a business area of 5,000 to 10,000 square meters, and selling Japan-made electric appliances like flat panel TVs. Its target customers are well-paid residents in China's coastal areas. Yamada Denki will thus become Japan's first large consumer electronics retailer to foray into the country.
