Gome to Rein in Air Conditioner Price through Mass Procurement

SHENZHEN, May 16, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Gome, the top-ranking home appliance and consumer electronics retailer in China, on May 14 signed series of big contracts with fifteen air conditioner manufacturers such as Haier, Midea, Gree, Hisense Kelong, LG, and Panasonic.

This time, Gome purchased 600,000 air conditioners from these manufacturers, which are worth of CNY 1.8 billion. From this week, Gome will kick off sweeping promotional activities in Beijing to rein in price hike of air conditioners as a result of rising demand in the busy season.
