Fed: Australian women do not agree with Iraq war: survey
CANBERRA, May 28 AAP - A majority of women do not support the war in Iraq or Australia's
immigration policies, a new survey has found.
They do, however, support gay rights and the push for an Australian republic according
to the survey by The Australian Women's Weekly.
About 15,000 women aged 20 and above took part in the survey which sought responses
on education, childcare maternity leave, the republic and immigration.
Nearly a third of the women disagreed with the decision to send troops to Iraq, with
many women believing it has tarnished Australia's reputation.
