Swim: Kitajima marks protest with record in Speedo test

TOKYO, June 6 Reuters - Japan's double Olympic champion Kosuke Kitajima protested over
swimming's raging bodysuit wars on Friday, demanding athletes be given the right to choose
what swimwear they use at this year's Beijing Games.
The 25-year-old peeled off his tracksuit top to reveal a T-shirt with the slogan "I
am the swimmer" in a blunt message to Japanese swimming officials.
Kitajima, contracted to Japanese manufacturer Mizuno, underlined his point by setting
a new national record of 59.44 seconds in the 100 metres breaststroke wearing Speedo's
controversial LZR ...
