NSW: Pilgrims dispappointed after papal motorcade speeds past

SYDNEY, July 20 AAP - Crowds waiting for the popemobile in Sydney's Centennial Park
this morning were disappointed to catch only a glimpse of Pope Benedict XVI as he sped
past in a sedan.
Just after 9am (AEST), onlookers screamed with excitement as the popemobile appeared
in the distance, but were disappointed when they realised it was empty and mounted in
a trailer.
Moments later, police cars led a line of white sedans through the park, one of which
contained the pontiff.
Many pilgrims did not realise the Pope had just passed by because ...
