Select Energy Independence and Global Warming July 30, 2008 Thank you Mr.
Chairman and Members of the Committee for the opportunity to discuss the
great promise of natural gas in the U.S. I am Aubrey McClendon, Chairman
and CEO of Chesapeake Energy Corporation, located in Oklahoma City and
the most active driller and the largest independent producer of natural
gas in the U.S. I am also Chairman of the American Clean Skies Foundation
here in Washington, which today has issued a groundbreaking new study that
