Gansu, China's TCM Materials Production and Export Base

LANZHOU, Aug 01, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Northwestern Chinese province Gansu has become a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) material market with annual turnover of 180,000-ton, and contributes 75% of the TCM material exports of China.

The province plants about 1.535 billion square meters of TCM materials now, and the total output and production value for the entire 2008 are predicted to reach 400,000 tons and more than CNY 2.6 billion, respectively. TCM material business has turned into a pillar industry of the local economy.
