Statement of Wayne Pacelle President & CEO, Humane Society of the United
States Committee on House Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime Terrorism and
Homeland Security July 31, 2008 Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for the opportunity
to testify in support of H.R.6597, the Animal Cruelty Statistics Act of
2008 and H.R. 6598, the Prevention of Equine Cruelty Act of 2008. I am
Wayne Pacelle, president and CEO of The Humane Society of the United States,
the nation's largest animal protection organization with 10.5 million members
and constituents - one of every 31 Americans. I am also testifying on behalf
