Wre: Aussie wrestler bows out quickly after long wait

BEIJING, Aug 13 AAP - An eight year wait finally came to an end for Australian wrestler
Hassan Shahsavan at the Beijing Games today.

But the Iranian-born Shahsavan, 32, could not make up for lost time, falling at the
first hurdle in the 74kg Greco-Roman competition.

He went the distance against Kazakhstan's world No.5 Roman Melyoshin but was on the
wrong side of a 9-2 points decision.

Shahsavan missed a chance to move into the repechage round when Melyoshin was eliminated
in the quarter-finals later.

Shahsavan's arrival at Beijing ended a frustrating wait for the Sydney resident.
