Qld: Outrage over latest koala killing

BRISBANE, Aug 22 AAP - Another koala has been found dead and mutilated in Brisbane's
north-western suburbs, the latest in a horrific series of attacks on native fauna in the
area.

Anika Lehmann, of Caboolture Koala Care and Rescue, said a four-year-old male koala
found by a property owner at Clear Mountain had died from abdominal trauma and had a leg
amputated, probably after death.

"Again, unfortunately this is a koala that has been bashed to death and then after
it's dead they removed its leg," Ms Lehmann told ABC radio.

"I don't know what's the purpose of that.

"We should not tolerate this."
