Qld: Koala killing baffles carers

BRISBANE, Aug 22 AAP - The mutilated body of another koala has been found in Brisbane's
north-western suburbs - the latest in a series of bizarre attacks on native fauna.

The state opposition has branded the perpetrators as sadist who should be severely
punished before they start attacking humans.

Anika Lehmann, of Caboolture Koala Care and Rescue, said a four-year-old male koala
found by a property owner at Clear Mountain had died from abdominal trauma. One of its
legs had been amputated, probably after death.
