NSW: Censorship in China has got worse, not better
SYDNEY, Aug 24 AAP - Censorship in China was worse than ever since the Beijing Olympics,
say a group of Chinese expatriates condemning media censorship.
More than 40 activists taped over their mouths in protest at a decision by a satellite
provider to cease transmission of independent Chinese television network New Tang Dynasty
Television (NTDTV) into mainland China in June prior to the Olympics.
Protest spokeswoman Lucy Zhao said despite reports of a relaxation of website censorship
during the Olympics, press freedom was now worse than ever.
