Article: No harm in exposure to secondhand smoke

(State News) (U-WIRE) EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Although a U.S. district judge has recently dismissed the idea, the Environmental Protection Agency adamantly supports a 1993 report that states secondhand smoke can cause cancer.

The EPA says secondhand smoke is a real threat to children and adults. It says secondhand smoke should be classified as a Class A carcinogen that is a cancer agent. It says it is responsible for more than 3,000 lung-cancer deaths a year.

I'm very sorry that those deaths happened, but there's got to be a catch to that statistic -- some fine print saying the people who died were of very poor health or were exposed to an obscene ...
