FED: Wounded soldier still very serious: Houston
CANBERRA, Sept 4 AAP - An Australian soldier badly wounded in a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan
remains seriously ill and will be transferred to medical facilities in Germany later today,
the defence chief says.
Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston said the soldier was operated on at Kandahar overnight
and would be flown to Germany later today.
"Our prayers and thoughts are with him and his family, he's in the best of medical
hands," Air Chief Marshal Houston told reporters in Canberra.
"That means he's got the best chance of survival, but we rate him as very seriously
