Statement of Lisa Danetz Senior Counsel Demos Committee on Senate Rules
and Administration September 15, 2008 Demos supports S.3308 because the
veterans who have served our country deserve our full support in ensuring
that they can exercise the fundamental right to vote through ready access
to voter registration. S.3308 ensures that some form of affirmative voter
registration assistance will be available to veterans at facilities operated
by the Department of Veterans Affairs - by facility personnel, by nonpartisan
organizations, or by elections officials. There are many veterans who reside
