VIC: Power cut to airport baggage systems

MELBOURNE, Sept 16 AAP - Hundreds of passengers were left waiting for their luggage
after contractors accidentally cut power to Melbourne Airport's baggage systems this morning.

An airport spokeswoman said the contractors intended to isolate power only in the area
they were working, but inadvertently switched off power systems for terminals two and
three shortly before 8am (AEST).

Power was partially restored by 8.15am (AEST) and full power restored just before 9am
(AEST) but several domestic flights arriving at terminal three, used by Virgin Blue, had
been affected, spokeswoman Emma Stenhouse said.
