NSW: Dispute over Cochlear worker in Federal Court

SYDNEY, Sept 25 AAP - A dispute over Cochlear's treatment of one of its workers is
before the Federal Court, with the union seeking an injunction to stop him being sacked.

Worker delegate Cuong Nguyen was stood down on full pay when he arrived for work at
the hearing implant maker's Sydney factory yesterday, disciplined for talking to the media
during a visit to Canberra.

Mr Nguyen and other Cochlear staff were in Canberra on Tuesday, lobbying politicians
about the company's refusal to negotiate with workers, despite five separate votes in
support of a collective agreement.
