Vic: Dr Nelson reflects on difficulties of former job

MELBOURNE, Sept 28 AAP - Former opposition leader Dr Brendan Nelson has admitted leadership
of the Liberal Party after its 2007 defeat was a poisoned chalice, but believed he could
take the party to the next election.

Dr Nelson was defeated by three votes earlier this month by Malcolm Turnbull after
calling for a leadership spill to end speculation about his position.

Speaking on ABC Local Radio's Sunday Profile program tonight, Dr Nelson attributed
the federal election loss to the Howard government's longevity, ...
