THE Melewar Group is said to have lined up a Middle East investor to help take MAA Holdings Bhd private and inject fresh capital to alleviate its solvency issues.

Last Wednesday, Tunku Datuk Ya'acob Tunku Abdullah, one of the major shareholders of MAAH, said he would consider making a voluntary general offer for the remaining shares in the company.
Inviting a cash-rich Middle East partner will be a quick way for Melewar to seek financing particularly in the present tight credit environment, a source told Business Times.
