Shenzhen Chiwan Warf Sep Cargo Throughput Up 3.6%
SHENZHEN, Oct 14, 2008 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Shenzhen Chiwan Warf Holding Ltd. (SZSE: 000022; SZSE: 200022), a port terminal operator of the Chiwan Port Area and the Mawan Port Area of the Port of Shenzhen, South China, handled 5.517 million tons of cargo in September 2008, up 3.6% over a year ago.
The two port areas dealt with 537,000 containers (TEU) in total in the month, 6.9% less than a year ago. The Chiwan Port Area alone achieved 372,000 TEUs, down 10.4%, and 551,000 tons of general cargo, off 9.4%.
