This is Talk of the Nation. I'm Alison Stewart in Washington. Neal Conan is away. Washington Post reporter Steve Fainaru has traveled to Iraq 11 times since the start of the war, and a lot of his reporting there has centered on private security contractors, men and women who work for companies like Blackwater USA, Triple Canopy, and the Crescent Security Group. Modern mercenaries he calls them, soldiers for hire. Last year, Steve Fainaru won a Pulitzer Prize for this reporting. It's the subject of his new book called ...
