Restaurant gift certificates are one of my favorite holiday presents.
They're light and easily mailed ideal for those who dine out frequently and a nice indulgence for those who rarely do.
But this year, I won't be buying any.
Because in these economic times, restaurants can vanish before your recipients even have a chance to make a reservation leaving them with nothing but a pricey piece of paper.
