Qld: Future secure for two-thirds of ABC Learning centres

BRISBANE, Nov 26 AAP - Two-thirds of ABC Learning's childcare centres will remain open
in 2009, with more likely to be saved, receiver McGrathNicol says.
The nation's largest childcare provider went into receivership earlier this month after
registering debts of more than $1 billion.
Receiver Chris Honey said on Wednesday 656 of the centres operated by ABC would continue
to trade as normal after December 31 this year under a "sustainable business model".
Mr Honey said this would provide certainty to the parents of about 80,000 children.
