KUCHING: They believed that wearing amulets and charms on their bodies would make them invincible, but this was not the case.

The five robbers, all foreigners, were shot dead by police after a 20-minute high-speed chase over 25km from Samariang to Kota Samarahan early yesterday.
The five, in their 30s, were responsible for a spate of armed robberies here and in Kota Samarahan over the past few months.

A special task force from the state police headquarter's major crimes division had been monitoring the gang.
