Consumer Goods Retail Sales Top CNY 1tn in Shandong

SHANDONG, Jan 19, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The total retail sales of consumer goods in Shandong Province last year are expected to top CNY 1 trillion, according to rough estimate of officials from the local government. If the price factor is taken out, the growth rate is 17%, reaching its ten-year high.

By the end of 2008, the province saw 476 chain store companies, with 23,000 sales outlets. Sales of these chain stores accounted for 25.1% of the total retail sales. And the province has set up a string of shopping streets.
