HISTORY: The church began when a Lutheran newcomer to Kennebunk, Barbara Brittain, placed an ad in the newspaper in 1969 seeking other Lutherans to form a congregation. At the time, the closest Lutheran churches were in Portland and Portsmouth, a 30-mile drive either way.
