China 09 Estimated to Offer CNY1.4trn Treasury Bonds

BEIJING, Feb 03, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China is expected to issue CNY 1.4 trillion worth of treasury bonds in 2009, according to the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII).

In the face of the slowing economy, the government's active fiscal policy would cause a large fiscal deficit, which is estimated to account for 2% to 3% of the country's annual GDP. Besides, about CNY 800 billion treasury bonds will be mature in the year.
