Indonesian bank sets loan target

PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia, the second international Islamic bank in Malaysia, is targeting to undertake syariah financing mandates worth some US$100 million (RM362 million) within the first year of its operations, said its official yesterday.

The bank was granted the foreign currency Islamic banking licence by Bank Negara Malaysia last December and opened an office in Kuala Lumpur last month.
"We have yet to commence our operations fully, but the target is to handle investments of about US$100 million in the first year," said Bank ...
