WORLD NO 1 Lee Chong Wei was again made to work hard by another unheralded shuttler, Marc Zwiebler of Germany, before the top seed checked into the quarter-finals of the All England in Birmingham yesterday.
Chong Wei was expected to coast to an easy win but Zwiebler put up a spirited resistance before surrendering to the Malaysian 21- 18, 21-16 win in 37 minutes.
China's back-up player Lu Yi made Chong Wei sweat for a 19-21, 21- 16, 21-11 win in a 57-minute first round encounter on Wednesday.
