Fed: Alcopops tax hike won't need to be refunded:Turnbull
CANBERRA, March 16 AAP - The federal government won't have to refund the additional
tax it has collected on so-called alcopops in the past year after the opposition indicated
it would validate the measure.
But the coalition won't support the tax hike on ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages
being levied past April this year.
A Senate committee on Monday is due to hand down a report from its inquiry into the
tax hike, which the government introduced by regulation in April last year as a measure
to combat binge drinking.
