Coca-Cola Said to Give up Huiyuan

BEIJING, Mar 18, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- The Coca-Cola Co. may give up the acquisition of top Chinese juice maker China Huiyuan Juice Group Ltd. (SEHK: 1886), said sources.

The main reason for it to do so may be that it should give up the brand of Huiyuan.

Coca-Cola announced in September 2009 that it planned to acquire Huiyuan, which seizes 42 percent market share in China's pure juice sector, for USD 2.4 billion.
