Fed: Rudd denounces distillers' donation offer as "hush money"
MELBOURNE, March 20 AAP - Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has dismissed offers by distillers
to donate the alcopops tax refund as "hush money".
Mr Rudd's comment comes after distillers promised to donate any reimbursement of alcopops
tax to health advocacy groups and introduce warning labels on pre-mixed drinks.
He said it was in the hands of the alcohol industry what it did with the money and
accused the Liberal Party of working in "cahoots" with the industry.
"It strikes me that there's an overwhelming political deal between the Liberal Party
and the alcohol industry to use this hush ...
