Auditor switch for sake of cost yet to be trendy

SWITCHING auditors to contain costs has yet to become a trend among Malaysian listed companies, according to two of the country's major accounting firms.

KPMG Malaysia managing partner Seow Yoo Lin said that although there has been a drop in demand for its advisory services, its accounting business remains firm.
"Our auditing business remains the same ... it is a recurring business," he told reporters after signing a career development partnership between KPMG Malaysia and CPA Australia in Petaling Jaya yesterday.
