Fed: Woman sexually assaulted in Canberra

CANBERRA, April 6 AAP - A woman was grabbed from behind and sexually assaulted in a
Canberra street at the weekend.

Police said the 22-year-old woman was walking alone along Sherbrooke Street, Ainslie,
in Canberra's inner north around 3.15am on Saturday when a man approached her from behind.

The attacker sexually assaulted her before she managed to hit him and run away.

The man followed her for a short distance but stopped when she reached a well-lit area
near Majura Road.

The attacker was described as being about 183cm tall with short brown hair and an athletic build.
