NetEase Said to Separate Internet Portal Business

BEIJING, Apr 14, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- NetEase.com Inc. (Nasdaq: NTES) is brewing to spin off its Internet portal business for independent development, an analyst at an investment bank disclosed on April 14, 2009.

Moreover, the company intends to get its Internet portal business listed on the stock market. However, the specific timetable for the plan is still unavailable, said the insider.

It is wise for NetEase to separate the Internet portal from the company, noted another analyst for the Internet industry.
