Walter H. Ganz, a meteoric force in Englewood politics more than a generation ago, died Thursday at his home in Santa Fe, N.M. He was 87.

The German-born Ganz was elected chairman of the Democratic Municipal Committee in 1965, five years after moving to Englewood from Washington, D.C., where he was a senior intelligence analyst with the CIA.
