On May 1, 1944, The Palestine Post reported that most of the northern Italian railway lines had been cut, mostly by air raids. The German aerodromes in France were heavily bombed by the Flying Fortresses and Liberators of the 8th US Air Force.
Moscow cheerfully celebrated Labor Day.
Importance was attached by the Soviet press to the visit of Father Orlimanski, a Polish Catholic priest from the US, who arrived to help to solve the Polish problem. He was received by Stalin and foreign minister Molotov. According to ...
