GERMAN carmaker BMW AG has kicked off its second phase of growth blueprint in Malaysia, aiming to dislodge a perennial rival off the top premium spot within five years and strengthening its product line-up and service quality.

BMW Malaysia managing director Geoffrey Briscoe, however, made it clear that being number one here was not its foremost "obsession".
