Eastern Airlines, Air China Q1 Fuel Hedging Losses Down

SHANGHAI, May 14, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. (SEHK: 0670; SHSE: 600115) yesterday announced that its losses from fuel hedging on the changes in fair value for the first quarter of 2009 reduced CNY 422 million, because the international oil prices were on the rebound.

The Shanghai-based air carrier aggregately lost around CNY 916 million, compared with a more than 6 billion unrealized loss in the entire 2008. Meanwhile, total losses from fuel hedging on the changes in fair value of Air China Limited ...
