SARAWAK-BASED Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd is considering buying state-owned Brooke Dockyard and Engineering Works Corp (BDEWC) in a move to win more oil and gas (O&G) contracts in Sabah and Sarawak.

BDEWC is the country's oldest shipyard.
According to industry sources, Dayang, which provides oil rig maintenance and marine charter, may offer between RM40 million and RM60 million for BDEWC.

A source said that Dayang had been talking to the state agency over the past year without progress.
