Food and Drug Administration Department of Health and Human Services Committee
on House Agriculture Subcommittee on Horticulture and Organic Agriculture
May 14, 2009 INTRODUCTION Good morning, Chairman Cardoza and Members of
the Subcommittee. I am Dr. David Acheson, Associate Commissioner for Foods
at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA or the Agency), which is part
of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). With me today is
Dr. Steven Solomon, Assistant Commissioner for Compliance Policy in FDA`s
Office of Regulatory Affairs, which oversees the Agency`s field staff.
