AMMAN (Star)-Safety on the road, the dream shared by everyone in the
community, is being put in the spotlight today as the result of a dramatic
rise in fatalities and injuries caused by car accidents.
The increase of accidents urgently demands a substantial solution. It
is reported that more than 500,000 persons die annually in car accidents,
with further casualties exceeding 10 million.
There are also substantial material losses, estimated at billions of
dollars, to be considered. In Jordan, traffic accidents take their toll
on both human and financial resources.
