Statement of John F. Hegarty National President National Postal Mail Handlers
Union Committee on House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on
Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and the District of Columbia May 20,
2009 Good morning, and thank you Chairman Lynch and members of the Subcommittee
for inviting me to testify. My name is John Hegarty, and I am National
President of the National Postal Mail Handlers Union, which serves as the
exclusive bargaining representative for nearly 55,000 mail handlers employed
