Chiwan Wharf Down 21.9% in May Cargo Handling
SHENZHEN, Jun 05, 2009 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- Shenzhen Chiwan Warf Holdings Ltd. (SZSE: 000022; SZSE: 200022), the operator of several key terminals in Shenzhen Port, dealt with 4.301 million tons of cargos in May 2009, down 21.9 percent from a year earlier.
Under its wing, the Chiwan Port Area and the Mawan Port Area gained a container throughput of 397,000 TEUs, falling 22.8 percent year on year. The former dealt with 288,000 TEUs alone with a decline of 21.7 percent, and its bulk cargo throughput slipped 8.4 percent to 576,000 tons.
