GUIDELINES can help companies in their sustainable reporting efforts, but regulators should stop short of imposing too many rules or legislation, lest it becomes a "tick box" exercise, panelists at a corporate governance forum said on Wednesday.

Sustainability reporting is very intangible as each company has to report on its own specific issues, they said.
